This season, four legendary artists are watching over the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus: Prince, Tina Turner, Beyoncé, and Billy Porter.

Haus Prince doesn’t follow the crowd, they make the crowd wonder why they didn’t think of it first. Members of this Haus bring imagination, individuality, and just the right amount of mystery. Haus Beyoncé understands that great performances don’t just happen. You put in the work.

These singers raise the bar for themselves and inspire the people around them to rise with them. They pay attention to the details, come prepared, and know that individual excellence is even more powerful when it strengthens the whole ensemble.

Haus Tina knows that strength isn’t about never facing a challenge, it’s about what you do next. These singers bring determination, optimism, and an energy that can lift an entire room.

Haus Billy walks into the room as exactly who they are.

These singers celebrate individuality, encourage others to take up space, and understand that authenticity can be an act of courage. They bring heart, confidence, compassion, and occasionally enough drama to require their own entrance music.

The Haus Rules

Your Haus is your team, your family, and your built-in cheering section. The other three Hauses are your very friendly (and occasionally very competitive) rivals.

Throughout the season, singers earn points for their Haus. At the end of the year, the Haus with the most points earns the ultimate honor:

The Prize

The winning Haus gets to theme the End-of-Year Banquet in the style of its Haus Mother.

That could mean:

A mysterious, purple Prince party.

A high-energy, rock-and-roll Tina celebration.

A polished, over-the-top Beyoncé spectacular.

Or a fabulous, fashion-forward Billy Porter extravaganza.

How You Are Sorted

Every singer takes a short Haus Sorting Quiz (and is available now in your Singer Portal) at the beginning of the season. Your answers help us determine which Haus energy fits you best.

But the Sorting Quiz isn’t the only factor.

Leadership also makes sure the four Hauses are approximately equal in size and create a balanced ensemble. The result is four powerhouse teams with different personalities but equal opportunities for glory.

Once you’re sorted, that’s your Haus for the season.

How to Earn Points

There is no exhaustive list, and that’s part of the fun.

Points might be awarded for:

  • Showing up and standing out

  • Acts of kindness

  • Memorizing music early

  • Helping another singer

  • Being an enthusiastic cheerleader for IMC

  • Suggesting a great idea

  • Going above and beyond

  • Selling tickets

  • Helping raise money

  • Recruiting new singers

  • Representing IMC at community events, media appearances, or tabling opportunities

  • Volunteering when help is needed

  • Doing something hilarious, brilliant, generous, or heartwarming that makes IMC better

  • Surprising us

Basically: do good things and good things may happen to your Haus.

Who Decides?

Points are awarded by Greg, Jared, JJ, Aaron, and Stephen, who are always on the lookout for point-worthy moments, big or small.

Whether you’re going above and beyond, helping another singer, making IMC better, or doing something that simply deserves recognition, any of them can award points to your Haus.

Translation: You never know who’s watching.

A Few Important Rules

You cannot lose points.
Once your Haus earns them, they’re yours.

You cannot ask for points.
Begging, bargaining, campaigning, bribery, and presenting Greg with an itemized list of your recent accomplishments will not help your cause.

The standings are public.
Haus totals will be updated regularly in the Singer Portal.

There will be surprises.
Bonus opportunities, unexpected challenges, and completely arbitrary moments of Haus drama may appear throughout the season.

Can my Haus lose points?
Nope. We believe in positive reinforcement and unnecessary competition, not punishment.

Can I switch Hauses?
No. Your Mother has claimed you.

How do I know how many points my Haus has?
Check the Singer Portal for the latest standings.

Is there a complete list of ways to earn points?
Absolutely not. Where would be the fun in that?

Can I nominate someone for points?
You can always tell a Chorus Manager when you see another singer doing something especially wonderful. Whether points materialize is another matter.

Can I give myself points?
Beyoncé did not build an empire by giving out participation trophies. No.

What if my Haus is losing?
It’s August. Calm down.
